Weight Management
Hypnotherapy can be a very powerful tool in enabling us to manage our weight.
Unlike dieting, hypnotherapy concentrates on positive choices, healthy balanced eating and lifestyle choices which takes the focus off deprivation. Typically, when we believe we are not allowed something, we fixate on it and we don’t all cope well with loss.
Hypnotherapy helps focus you on where you want to be and on the positive aspects of managing what you eat, building your energy and increasing your confidence. As somebody who has significantly reduced their weight, I believe that we can be healthier and happier and stay that way.
Depression, Anxiety & Stress
At some point in our lives, many of us may experience depression, anxiety or stress. This can be as a result of specific circumstances or the result of a 'build-up' of difficulties. For some it becomes almost a 'learned behaviour' and they may get stuck in a negative cycle of thoughts, actions and symptoms.
Hypnotherapy can break the negative cycle of depression, anxiety or stress allowing us to become more positive, feel calmer and more organised. It allows us the space to re-organise our thoughts into a more productive pattern. If you feel 'stuck’ in this negative cycle, hypnotherapy may be the way for you to become 'unstuck’.
One of my first questions for anyone who is suffering from depression or anxiety will be about a medical diagnosis. It is essential that you do get professional medical support via your GP and make me aware of any prescription medication you are taking before we begin any treatment.
Sleeping Problems
A lack of sleep can be debilitating and prevent individuals from having a happy, productive life. As well as looking at ways you can relax, hypnosis can be used to create an internal safe and calm place. Whilst hypnosis uses relaxation to give an individual time and space to rest, it does not take the place of natural sleep.
Fears & Phobias
Hypnotherapy enables relatively straightforward fears and phobias to be readily treated. The technique is normally very relaxing and positive.
The initial consultation explores how your fear or phobia has evolved and how your mind has supported the belief that - whatever your fear or phobia is, it’s to be feared and/or avoided. We focus very much on your preferred behavior when faced with the object of your fear or phobia and therefore do not look at what may have caused the negative feelings you have.
Details of your actual reactions can remain private. As your Hypnotherapist, I’ll focus on how you would like things to be in the future. It’s possible I will look to use conscious tools to support you as well.
Lack Of Confidence
Many people suffer from a lack of confidence in one area of their lives or another. A lack of confidence will prevent individuals from living their lives to the fullest.
We may try telling ourselves we are confident or try to act confident to overcome this difficulty, only to find ourselves trembling internally and losing even more confidence.
Hypnotherapy can enable us to believe in ourselves by ensuring the subconscious believes in us. The number of sessions will vary from client to client
Smoke-Free (Smoking cessation)
Hypnotherapy is well known for treating addictions, most notably smoking. For the client who wants or needs to break their addiction to tobacco, hypnotherapy is extremely effective and fast-acting.
Normally a consultation will be used to gain as much information as possible and this will be followed by a subsequent 90-minute session.
